ARTIST BIO. Robert Philip Costo of Warrington, Pa., was born and raised in Philadelphia PA., and shortly after birth, he was Diagnosed Legally Blind. In spite of his visual handicaps, he received his certification in Computer Graphics from Harcourt Learning Direct and his certification in Computer Repair from Thomson Education Direct. In addition to his computer savvy, Robert has a passion for Charcoal Drawing. Because of this passion, his drawings are extremely detailed with a touch of his personality in each creation. Robert's disabilities have not diminished his strong, positive mental attitude and incredible sense of humor which have allowed him to excel in his Charcoal Drawing Classes. Monitors?

When purchasing a Monitor you should understand the fallowing things how they work and how they will work and how the Display the Image on Screen. There are Two types of Monitors C.R.T T.V. type Monitors and L.C.D Flat Panel type Monitors.

Screen Resolution.
Both Monitors will Display the Sceen by drawing the image with Dots called Pixels. So a Monitor that has a Resolution of 1024 X 768 will Display the Screen with 1024 Pixels Horizontally and 768 Pixels Verticlly. The Higher the Monitors Resolution the better the Display.

Dot Pitch / Pixel Pitch.
Both Monitors will Display the Sceen by drawing the image with Dots called Pixels. Every Pixel is made up of three colors Red Green and Blue. The distance from one color in a Pixel to the same color in another Pixel is the Dot Pitch. It is measured in Millimeters a C.R.T T.V. type Monitors Dot Pitch may be 0.250mm or 0.350mm and L.C.D Flat Panel type Monitors Dot Pitch may be 0.160mm or 0.283mm. The smaller the Monitors Dot Pitch the sharper the Display.

Contrast Ratio.
Both Monitors will Display the Sceen by drawing the image with Dots called Pixels. The diferance between the Lightest Pixel and the Darkest Pixel is the Contrast Ratio. A Movie Theaters Screen has a Contrast Ratio of 500 : 1 the Higher the number on the left the more vivid the Display.

Candelas Per Sqware Meter.
The overall Brightness of the Display Screen is measured in nt / nits. A Monitors nt / nits count may be 200 to 400 the Higher the number the Brighter the Display.
